There are special challenges involved in conducting a thorough search for overseas employment opportunities. One of the steps in finding these positions is simply to locate resources and job listings. The links listed below should aid in search efforts.

  • GoinGlobal Country Career and Employment Resources Provides world-wide job openings, internship listings, industry profiles and country-specific career information designed to help citizens of one country find employment in another country (including the U.S.). Log in with your Umich Uniqname through the library system.
  • My World Abroad Everything you need to begin your job search overseas. Log in with your Umich Uniqname.
  • CultureGrams Online Database is a leading reference for concise, reliable, and up-to-date cultural information on countries across the globe. It includes four editions: the World Edition (for junior high school and up) and the Kids, States, and Canadian Provinces editions (for upper elementary school students). The World Edition includes 208 country-specific reports. These provide complete coverage of every sovereign country recognized by the United Nations, plus several foreign dependencies. Each World Edition report is written by a native or long-term resident of the country in coordination with a CultureGrams editor. Writers are selected for their education, knowledge of a national language, experience with different regions and socioeconomic groups, recent residency in the country, and access to current information.
  • GlobalEdge is an International Internship Directory hosted by Michigan State University.  The Directory is a reference guide for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to help match students with international internship opportunities offered by two- and four-year colleges and universities, governmental agencies, non-profit groups, private organizations, and corporations. To search for an internship, select a type of organization, country, or subject of study.

  • Idealist.org Action without borders. Search for jobs, internships, volunteer experiences, and events on this robust website.
  • Immigration Australia Information on Australian Student Visas and finding a job in Australia – a free guide for studying and working in Australia.
  • Infosys-India InStep – the flagship global internship program of Infosys – attracts talent from top academic institutions around the world. InStep interns get to work on dynamic projects ranging from application development to business consulting in practices that include Corporate Planning, Education and Research, Enterprise Solutions, Software Engineering, and Technology Labs.   • OverseasJobs.com Job search resource for individuals looking for international employment opportunities. Site contains listing of jobs around the world not specific to Engineering.
  • Peace CorpsPost-graduation opportunity to volunteer in countries around the world bringing education, services, and health care to children and communities. The Peace Corps have volunteers stationed in Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and throughout the Pacific Islands.
  • Riley Guide: Job Listings An online directory of Career Sites not specifically intended for Engineers. Sites are arranged by geographical region and alphabetically. Expect resources for Canada, Caribbean, South America, Europe, and across Asia.
  • TopJobs.net A large listing of opportunities in the United Kingdom among other countries aimed specifically at management, professional, and technical job searches. Also includes news articles.
  • TSU Professionals-Singapore Join TSU Professionals for an (unpaid) two month or (paid) three to six month internship in Singapore.  You will be given the opportunity to experience this exciting economy while becoming immersed in its culture, history and business world. Engineering internships are available.
  • Uniworld Business Publications is an authoritative source of information on American and Foreign firms operating internationally.

International Cooperative Education International Cooperative Education (ICE), since 1971, has been providing American college and university students with the unique opportunity to gain practical work experience abroad.
