ENGenius.Jobs: Create or update your account in ENGenius.Jobs, the College of Engineering’s online recruiting system. You can upload your resume, state your interest in an international internship, identify countries of interest and indicate non-English language proficiency. Employers list open positions and contacts for students to view. Remember to select “yes” for “include my resume in international internship referrals.”
LSA Opportunity Hub: The LSA Opportunity Hub partners with CoE for the India Initiative. offering summer internships in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, India. Most internships are hosted by University of Michigan Alumni. Funding is available for CoE students. Note: Internships are available to UM students returning to campus following the internship–graduating seniors are not eligible.
The LSA Opportunity Hub partners with several international internship placement organizations. Engineering students are welcome to explore these opportunities listed under Partner Packages. Some of these provide a discount for UM students.
U-M German Department Summer Internship in Germany: Cultural Vistas’ University of Michigan Summer Internship Program in Germany provides students with opportunities to enhance their careers while experiencing life and culture abroad during summer break. Internship placements customized to match students’ career goals. Open to juniors and seniors with at least two years of post-secondary instruction in German or the equivalent.
International Programs in Engineering “Study Abroad”: Consider a “Study Abroad” opportunity with a research or internship focus.
- Research in a German lab RWTH Aachen in the IPE summer program. This program is part of UROP International and CoE students may earn credit for a 10-week international experience with a German language and culture course. Open to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students.
- Study and research in South Korea with the IPE summer program at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Take three courses focusing on Korean language and culture and globalization and the economy then join a UNIST research team for a 4-week research internship. Open to 3rd and 4th year students.
- Participants in the IPE study abroad summer program in Xiamen, China are eligible to apply for an internship in Shanghai after the program with the Shanghai Nuclear Energy Research and Design Institute.
- Design for Global Health Academic (combines internship and coursework) and Internship program options offer opportunities for design immersion experiences in a clinical or public health setting in Africa. Open to students at all levels.
