In addition to stories and photos interns bring back from their international experiences, they return with added wisdom and tips for future interns abroad. Here are a few that share often:
1) Plan Early / Ahead
2) Be open to all kinds of experiences, even if they don’t sound like something you would normally do
3) The culture at your internship will most likely be different, so being open/aware of that is important. For example, it is often polite to ask about family/personal matters before going straight to talking about business.
4) Your supervisor and coworkers want you to have a good experience. If something is not working for you at your job, don’t be afraid to let them know
5) If you immerse yourself in the new area, it is scary at first but that is where you grow the most (both in language skills and personal growth)
